Card Trade-In Program

Note: Cards still come with warranty coverage — this program is separate. You can check out our Warranty Policy here.

For the past 4 years, we’ve offered a generous 2-Year Free Warranty that included a one-time replacement for lost, stolen, or functionally damaged cards. We’ve always stood by our craftsmanship — and with this, aimed to provide peace of mind.

But over time, a trend began to emerge: more and more cards were being reported as “lost” within just a few months — sometimes even weeks. Since there’s no real way to confirm if a card is/was truly missing, we honored these claims in good faith. Naturally, the policy got abused and started to become like an unofficial “Buy 1, Get 2” deal 😥

So, we’ve made a few important changes to keep things sustainable and fair. Our updated warranty now strictly covers physical or functional defects only (see our Warranty Policy), with coverage of up to 100 days.

🎁 Introducing: The Trade-In Program

As a more balanced and honest alternative to the previous free replacement system, we’re now offering a ₱1,000 (est. $20 USD) discount toward any new card order when you Trade-In an old one.

Eligible cards: Any past purchase from Gold Link — Pre-Made, Custom, or Premium — whether scratched, long expired, or even in mint condition.

🟡 Who’s Eligible?

  • You previously purchased a card from Gold Link Co. (Functional, Blank Chip, or Dummy Chip)
  • You can surrender or permanently disable a previously purchased metal card
  • You’re placing a new order (discount applies to that new order only)
  • You can provide proof of purchase

📦 What Counts as a “Surrender”?

You can surrender your metal card by mailing it back to us. Please ensure it’s already deactivated. Once received, we’ll recycle it responsibly.

✈️ For International Customers (Avoid Costly Shipping)

We get it — shipping metal cards internationally can be expensive. Here’s how you can still qualify without needing to send anything back:

OPTION 1: You’re Sending a new Card for Conversion

If you're placing a new Functional (card conversion) order, you don’t need to send your old metal card.

Why? Because sending metal usually bumps your parcel into the “product” category with higher courier fees. By sending only your plastic card, you save on shipping as it only counts as a "document"

OPTION 2: You’re Ordering a DIY Blank Chip Card

Ordering a Blank Chip Slot card lets you do the chip transfer at home. A full step-by-step guide is included with your order — zero shipping needed.

Given the options above, you can alternatively "Surrender" your card by :

  1. Permanently damaging your old metal card in one of the following ways:
    • Scratch off the front design
    • Bend or dent the surface
    • Remove the chip entirely
  2. Send us clear photos showing the damage. It must be visibly irreversible.

📩 Once verified, we’ll approve your ₱1,000 (est. $20 USD) Trade-In discount — no shipping required.

❗Lost or Taken by an ATM? You Might Still Qualify

If your card was lost or taken by an ATM, you may still be eligible. Just send us:

  • A photo of your original plastic card showing the now empty chip slot from the original conversion
  • A photo of the bank-issued replacement card ( cover sensitive information )
  • Both cards must clearly show the same name and card type (e.g., both are Wells Fargo Debit Cards)

This helps us confirm that the original card was genuinely lost and replaced.

Once verified, we’ll approve your ₱1,000 (est. $20 USD) Trade-In discount.

🔒 What If I Can’t Provide Proof?

If you’re unable to show proof of surrender, prior ownership, or valid replacement, we won’t be able to approve the request. We know that’s not ideal — but we want to be fair to everyone in the community.

⚙️ Still Covered by Warranty?

Genuine defects like chip failure, engraving errors, or technical malfunctions are still covered under our Warranty Policy. This applies only to Functional Cards Converted by our Team and is assessed case-by-case. (see our Warranty Policy)

Note: All surrendered cards — whether mailed in or visually destroyed — are considered permanently deactivated. Gold Link Co. reserves the right to deny any Trade-In request if:

  • Card ownership or prior conversion cannot be reasonably verified
  • Submitted damage is insufficient or is considered potentially reversible

Trade-In discounts may not be combined with other promotions unless explicitly stated.
